Had a fellow in the other day who ordered a cue from me. Pretty elaborate cue that will set him back about 1500.00. He says he wants to go on the road and play. A good hitter probably a master player but by no means what I consider pro level. Anyway he asks me what kind of woods hit best. I told him why didnt you ask me this upfront before he order. He says dont they all hit fabulous. I said well thats a grey area. What hits good for me, might not hit good for you. I had a cue that Jerry Franklin made for me years ago that was cocobolo and tulipwood and played fantastic. Ofcourse that had his stiff shaft taper and micarta ferrules. I told this guy that Hard maple be it birdseye or straight grain sugar maple and slightly heavier wood like coco, tulipwood, or something to give the cue a bit of heft usually makes up a fine hitting cue. I also told him that the shaft ferrule and even tip had alot to do with hit. I further told him that all the crustations, ivory, pearl and whatnot dont make a damn bit of difference. how sharp the fricken points are whatever. Any if you lookin to make money those kind of wands is crazy. They just arent carried by most good players. Rather just great hittin cues that make balls. Unless theyre sponsered and need to use the cue of the sponser. Oh well some people never learn.

Are you asking a question..making a statement? What exactly are you doing? Joey actually has good advice. I don't know why you would want to order a 1500.00 cue to go play on the road with....

I agree that the OP wasn't very clearly formatted, and read terribly, but next time it might be worth reading the post a second time before posting questions.

A great shaft and a $20.00 Budweiser Butt, and a break stick loaded with lead so you can fight your way out of the bar after you hustle all their money. I have a 2.5 pounder if your looking.

wasnt asking a question. Simply telling a short story that might amuse someone. I apologize for the grammer. Didnt know I was surrounded by english majors. Not everything posted on this forum is a question. Sometimes a story or personal experience might surface. Sorry for the confusion.
