I also remember that. I have brought up his name in a few posts but nobody can say what he is doing now.Keith McCready said:H82lose, the last time I saw Mark, he was in Las Vegas playing poker. He was about 250,000 winner and he got broke, and then he went to Utah and accepted the Lord. As far as I know, he hasn't gambled since.
Mark has probably got the most natural ability of any pool player that I have ever met. When he was in his prime, I don't think nobody alive had to beat him. Plus, he practiced more than anybody I knew, too.
I'd like to see Mark back on the pool circuit again, but who knows!
thebigdog said:Keith do you remember that L.A. Open event that was at the Marriott at LAX? The way Mark dominated those events was incredible. I remeber he one the Banks and 9-Ball and took 2nd in the One Pocket. Mark was one of the most fearless players I have ever seen.
Keith, how did you match up with Mark? That would have been a great game to sweat!
Keith I don't know if you remember this, you came up to Hesperia, Ca. with Ronnie Allen about 12 years ago maybe. I watched you give Mike Boyce, ( my dad), the 6 ball. You guys played a race to 11 and I think my old man only made it to the table like 3 times all set. You then gave Ronnie the same spot and did the same thing to him. The same day I saw you give one of the local guys "Barstow Jimmy" the 4 out and you drilled him.Keith McCready said:I remember the L.A. Open at the Marriott when Mark beat me 9 to 6 in the 9-ball tournament. Mark did play very well at that tournament, which I expected him to do good anyways.
We have always played even. It seemed like, though, every time I played him, I never came with my "A" game, and he always shot the lights out, but it was still a hard-fought battle.
I'd like to see Mark make a re-appearance. I've always had a lot of respect for his game, and I wish him well.
