I wanted to try a carbon fiber shaft on the cheap so I bought one. I assumed that unless someone tried to make a cf shaft high deflection it would naturally be low as long as it didn't have a huge plug ferrule.
The one I got seems to hit good, weighs in at just about 4 ounces and surprisingly has quite high deflection. Substantially higher than a pred 314 which is what I've been playing with lately.
I've been thinking about what might cause this and I only come up with 2 things. A really heavy or large ferrule or possibly thick walls on the cf tube. I guess there's an outside chance that they weighted the front to get to 4 ounces but that seems unlikely. The ferrule itself is the plug style and only shows about a quarter of an inch.
I'm going to remove the ferrule and see what it looks like. Anyone have any other ideas what might cause this?
Thanks
