Other than Moorii's and Kamui's, what other high end Japanese tips are there being made? There is I'm thinking of, but I can't place my finger on it. Also, does anyone here know if Kamui's are well received compared to the Moorii's? Note: I personally like Talisman, especially the med. hards...I'm just curious is all.

There are tons on the market. If you like a med. soft laminated tip, many feel that Sniper are the best on the market right now. I have them on my Samsara and Viking and have no plans of changing them soon.

I think theres one called Moldovo, something like that, i saw them on ebay a while ago.

Hot diggity! That's it!!!

Thanks Deep! It is Moldovo.:D By the way, have you ever played with them?

Nope never played with them, i was going to get some when i saw them on ebay but i forgot to bid on them, lol :o
I'm a Tiger Everest fan myself.

Snap! Do you know if they have a website?

I do remember seeing a web site for them but it was pretty basic, it just had pics of the tips and a very short description about them.

I've switched from Talisman Pros to Kamui's. I had a lot of delamination issues with the Talismans. I use Kamui hard tips now and love them.

I too have had A LOT, LOTS, AND STILL MORE problems with delam issues with Talisman. In fact you can no longer have a Talisman installed at Varney Custom Cues. A lot of Talisman players don't even notice. Look at the layer lines on the side of the tip. All lines should look the same thickness. When you see one line thats darker, thicker...BINGO...you have a delam. Press gently on the side of the tip and you can see the dark line seperate. The reason the line looks darker is due to the chalk that finds it way into the crevice. I've seen this way too often with Talisman tips. Most players don't notice until they loose some layers.
There are many superior tips on the market. High quality tips such as Moori, Tiger, Kamui, Molavia, will give you no such problems. In fact I'll go so far to say that probably 9 of the last 10 pro players that I've replaced tips for...are using the Sniper by Tiger. The secret with the Sniper is to have it correctly installed...a lot of hacks out there are turning them down on the lathe like they would a Moori...and are ruining them. When correctly installed...the Sniper is superb. Inside english shots will make your knees buckle. I played with the soft Moori for years with no complaints or reason to switch. Now fresh Snipers reside on my personal shafts.

The Molavia hard is quite a bit softer than a Moori Hard, they are more comparable to a Medium, IMO.

One last question you guys. Do you all agree with this statement? I like the Talisman mediums, because they are a hard tip in itself. Are the Molavia's that soft where the hards are more like mediums? I'm really thinking hard about getting some of these tips and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Snipers are excellent!!

I couldn't agree more regarding the quality of the Sniper tip by Tiger products. But, what did you mean by the above statement? How would one "turn them down" other than on a lathe? Finally, what do you mean by they are "ruining them"? Thanks,

Gene
