High end Olhausen vs. High end Connelly

Anyone know anything about Spencer Marston tables? If your interested in "home furniture" tables they have some that look nice. I've never heard of them but their ads started showing up so I must have been looking somewhere for them to capture my info. Here's a pic of their Arlington table, or not. For some reason it wouldn't upload.

Yes! Thank you! Have you played on them extensively?

No. I've only hit balls on them, after setting up a Connelly table. The table played nicely, and the cushions were noticeably lively. I really liked the playability of the table.

OK for Chinese tables similar to American Heritage. my friend has one - came with crap cloth but it was 3 piece slate, mediocre (slower) cushions, pockets similar to Diamond.

Thanks for the reply. Did the one you set up have 1 1/4" slates?

Lol … they must know it's crap cloth because they make it a point that you can upgrade to Simonis. I liked the rail diamonds.

I think the way it goes is the Diamond Pro-Am is only available in one piece slate, and the Professional models have the option of 3 piece, or 1 piece.

The 9’ ProAm can be ordered with 3 pieces. Sometimes that the only way to get one up or down stairs. Personally I’d never order a one piece slate unless it needed to be moved around on a regular basis. One piece slates are 1”/ 25 mm thick.

PS, if my only choices were Connelly or Olhausen I’d play tennis or golf.

I'm only curious. How many Connelly tables have you played on? How many games have you played on a Connelly high end table?

That’s a fair question. High end, never. My brother in law bought one of their 7’ tables. What a POS table. When I lived in Phoenix I had Connelly come out to install new cloth on a table. They did a horrible job and wouldn’t stand behind their work. No that doesn’t reflect on their table quality but it does influence my decision on what table to buy.

So my next house I bought an Olhausen furniture table because my wife wanted a nice looking table. That table looked good and seemed to be well built, but it played like shit.

Why do you think Diamond has taken over the market? For $7000 you get a super quality table, or for 10 grand you can get a GC6. How much higher end do you want if your a real pool player?

Thanks for taking the time to reply! I appreciate your remarks. I had a 9 foot Ollie Sheraton with tight pockets. The only thing good that came from that experience was that I had to teach myself to hit the ball easy. I hated that. I wish I still had my Connelly, but the guy I sold it to just laughed when I asked him if he'd sell it back. I'm not the sharpest knife in the chandelier.
