Maybe this should be in the ask the cuemaker forum??
How big is the footprint on the Hightower Deluxe cue lathe.?
I need to have the table made before it arrives.
thanks, Bill

Hi Bill, my Deluxe is 6' long and 12" wide, I don't know if the new lathes are the same size or not.

Cabinet on Deluxe Hightower lathe

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
So I put together the correct thing. The Cabinet is what you said was 71 inches by 12 inches. Is that how big I should build the table? Is that what you did? Should there be a little room somehwere for something? Or should I just build the table six feet by one and keep a kart along side? Will that do?
thanks, Bill

I made my bench 6 feet long, and 2 feet wide. These dimentions worked out very well because a 2x4 is 8 feet long. The 6 foot bench is easier to move if you might have to re arange your shop. If you are planning on just leaving things where they are an 8 foot bench might work well for you. Again I would make it 2 feet wide. You can put a small shelf behind it like I did.

As usual you are very generous with your help.
I appreciate the information and will follow your advice.
Thanks, Bill

If building the bench against a wall I usually build them two foot by 8 foot as that is a half of a sheet of 3/4" plywood. It is better to have more bench than you need than not enough. My last bench I used both halves of the plywood and ran the bench down the whole 14 foot wall. I have two Deluxes on that long bench with one of those red metal tool chests with drawers between them.

If you can find this type of bench when they are on sale, they can be more economical than a sheet of plywood and 2x4s.
Lots of room on the peg board, shelves on top and lots of storage space underneath.
