Excellent addition to this thread.I hope we can include Larry Lisciotti's Balabushka (1986-1991) that he bought from the widow of his friend Earl Silverman.
It was purchased recently from the Tascarella family.View attachment 838286
I don't think I posted this here before.
I will add a cue made by HARRY SIMS, USBA NATIONAL CHAMPION
Yes, I chalked and played it, of course.
Legend says Harry ran 11 racks of 9-ball before he became a
serious 3-Cushion player and quit the game of pool, earning 2 National Championships and
1 2nd place as well as earning the title of Grand Master. He said he switched from pool to 3-Cushion because there was no
more challenge left for him in pool.
Sadly, we lost him in 2006. https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/sad-news-harry-sims-3-cushion-champ.46931/
I had the privilege of speaking to someone that knew him closely.

I think I did post somewhere in the forums about this cue. But now it's here, resized, uploaded to AZB, and it will not be lost.
I wonder if Brian was using this cue the time he spanked meThis is a nice TAD that had a professional tournament career spanning 5 decades. Calvin is still Fargo 790 last I checked. I am the caretaker of this rare model that Hawaiian Brian also owned.View attachment 838357

One of the more interesting stories behind a cue. Thanks for posting.I took my Szamboti to Ernie to have the ferrules replaced with ivory.
Shortly after I left the cue Fish and Game raided his shop for bidding and abetting smuggling ivory.
Ernie was charged with aiding and abetting because he sold cues with ivory to an Asian buyer who was charged with smuggling ivory when he tried to take the cues to Asia.
My cue was taken in the raid and marked as evidence, please see the first three pictures.
Ernie contacted me and I am sure others whose cues were taken and said we should contact Fish and Game to have our cues returned.
Please see the last picture that shows the ferrules, I do not know what the material is but it is not ivory.
I decided not to replace the ferrules because I wanted to keep it in the same condition as it was when it was taken.
I had it listed on eBay for 20k because I didn't care if I sold it.
I will list the cue on AZB by tomorrow at a lower price.
Really coolThis is a nice TAD that had a professional tournament career spanning 5 decades. Calvin is still Fargo 790 last I checked. I am the caretaker of this rare model that Hawaiian Brian also owned.View attachment 838357

Nice addition to this thread. Very nice Doc Frye cues are not many. Yours is nice.Historic… 1965-66 Doc Frye....about $110 with 2 shafts & case (not showing but I still have it)
I do not play with it. Both shafts were turned down. I knew at the time it is a keeper so I had the work done. Not a fancy cue but it’s one of a kind.
Thanks. I love that cue. The sentimental value is priceless. The room I played at was a nice part of my life's experiences. Doc would come into the room (sometimes with Miz)... he was a real fine down to earth person. Everyone was ordering his cues. He would invite the buyers to his house to see the various stages. He enjoyed playing 1ball in the corner (not one pocket). He was champion skeet shooter... His shotgun stocks were absolutely beautiful. My Doc is more than a cue. It's part of my history.Nice addition to this thread. Very nice Doc Frye cues are not many. Yours is nice.
The post has been deleted. As I said before, this is not the thread to do a cue sale. There is another thread for that.
@FairladyZ @j2pac Would you please move these posts to the Wanted/For Sale thread? As the originator of this thread, this is not the purpose for it.
All the best,
WW
