The most memorable match of the event to this point has finished, and local hero Danny Barouty has wowed his fans with a great win over the defending world 14.1 champion.
When I began watching, Barouty led by about 60-50, but soon after Danny ran 60+ to get to 139-57 with a breakshot. He'd gotten wrong on the last ball but saved his inning with a bank and this appeared to be the shot that would secure the upset. Not so fast, however, as Danny badly overcut the break shot, and Hohmann looked very determined, running 56 cleanly and playing safe, but Hohmann went wrong moments later trying to combo in a four ball, so Danny needed just eleven for the win with an open table, and surely he'd run out. Right? Wrong! After running nine, Danny missed a fairly, though not totally, routine cut shot on the six in the corner, which would have put him at 149. so Thorsten would get another chance, but shortly after, a scratch off the pack on a side pocket breakshot would end his comeback bid and Barouty ran out for the win.

PS: Immonen and Hohmann, whio have both lost today, are now in the same draw and will likely meet at 10:00 PM tonight with the loser being eliminated.
