Hello All!

I wanted to post this for 2 reasons:

First and foremost, to wish all of you the very best during this holiday season. Regardless of your religious affiliation, I hope that this holiday season is a pleasant one for you and your family.

Secondly, I want to let you know about a new event I have been asked to put on this year. After several successful years of running the VA State 9 Ball Championships, I was approached by Greg Ferguson, General Manager of the Obelisk Billiard Club in Newport News, to run an event at his poolroom. As some of you may know, the game of choice at Obelisk is Straight Pool. As a fan of the game myself I thought it be only fitting to hold the Inaugural VA State Straight Pool Championships at the Obelisk Billiard Club. The flyer for the event is attached. I will bring 2 things to your attention. First, the field is limited to 32 players. I decided to limit the field so that we could finish in 2 days and have long races. That is a true test in straight pool. Finally, the event is to be held the last weekend in February. So signing up as soon as possible will secure your spot.

I hope to see many familiar faces at the VA State Straight Pool Championships and possibly some new faces as well.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

Great news to add to the 2010 VA State Straight Pool Championships!‏

We have just been informed that the winner of the 2010 Virginia State Straight Pool Championships will have a spot in the 2010 Predator World Straight Pool championships!

With this added bonus we are very excited and expect a full field of participants from around the state. Be sure to get your entry fees in as soon as possible!

Is there a website for the 2010 Predator World Straight Pool event?

BTW I will be donating $100 to the VA State event :)

Mid January Update!

OK Folks. Here's the latest.

We have a confirmed list of around 20 players in the event.

If you have not signed up yet, please do so soon.

Thanks to all those who have signed up already.

See you soon!

When I was at the weekly tournament a couple weeks ago Greg said he had 29 names on the list. I don't think he meant 29 PAID names, but it's filling up.

Only 10 Spots Left!!!!!!!!!!!!

You read correctly. There are only 10 spots left in the Inaugural VA State 14.1 Championships.

If you have not signed up yet, do so soon!

I'll see you all soon!

Is there going to be a Live Stream, or at least be recorded matches ?

Thanks
Steve

Can we get a players list ?

T-Minus 6 Days and counting............

OK Guys. It's almost time for the first ever VA State 14.1 Championships!

We are 6 days away and things are well in the works. Here's what we have:

1) The poolroom is in great shape.
2) We have a scoring sheet that will be easy to use. I tried it myself this weekend playing against a friend of mine and after I used it; it was great!
3) The Winner gets to play in the Predator World 14.1 Championships!
4) The player who has the High-Run of the Tournament will receive a very nice Cue & Case donated by former World & US Open Champion Nick Varner.
Thanks Nick!

We are just missing a few things. 6 Players to be exact!

We are 6 Players away from having a full field of 32 players.

If we are short of players, this will affect the prize fund and fewer spots will be paid out.

If you know anyone who enjoys playing 14.1, who is a Virginia resident and has $100, send them my way.

I can't wait to see some old friends and some new faces to one of my State Tournaments.

See you next week!

Four is already more than anyone could ask for, you're the man Bobby.

I'm sure it won't be cancelled with 26 players already good to go. With 26 I'm guessing top 4 or 5 will get paid. I tried to get the best player I know to enter, but he hates the tables there and says he doesn't think they can be fixed by anyone.
