It is an "acquired stroke"!

BTW, our very own BOB JEWITT recommended (in one of his articles) to develop/practice this exact stroke, though he places the 8 and CB about 6-8" off the short rail and shoot the 8 in the corner. The challenge is to send whitey 8 1/2 feet up table on the same line, landing right on the other short rail.

This kind of shot is easier than most people think but it requires some amount of practice. Pretty much every inch of my home table was covered with masse pock-marks before I sold it. That kind of shot is a standard exhibition shot for Lou Butera and Mike Massey. I'm betting that Efren would be about 99% on it -- Efren knows masse.
 
On a table with standard 4.5" or 5" side pockets, no problem!!!

On a table with 3.875" or 4" pockets, its a little difficult!!!!

I can get the shot to start to hook but the cue doesn't get far maybe 8inches,my friend does this like it's no problem.WTF

Elevate just a little more and use only side spin. No draw is needed.
