I would like to ask the most active and nicest lady pro player on AzBilliards.

When did you start playing pool? Why?

What is your biggest victory to date?

What is the best advice you could give a 16 who has been playing pool roughly a year and a half.

Good luck in all your matches sarah, Steve Cooper says wonderful things about you, and reading your latest posts you really are truly that person :).

Hey Muxy,

Thank you for your kind words and I appreciate you asking questions. Anytime you ask anything I will answer as best as I can.

I started playing pool when I was 10 years old. I had a couple different reasons for doing so. The first reason was that I fell in love with the game. The fact that there weren't many kids playing pool made me want to play even more...it set me apart and made me different...more of an individual. The second reason is because I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 10. I was worried about my bloodsugars going low and the physical activities of "regular" sports.

My biggest victory to date: Winning an entire tournament it would have to be winning the 2000 BCA Junior National Championship. It was something that was years in the making and something that I spent many years coming very close to winning. There are a couple of matches that I consider my biggest victory. One is when I played Gerda Hofstatter in maybe my fourth pro tournament. The score was hill-hill and I had ball in hand with 4 balls on the table...I didn't get out...but I got another shot at the 9. It was a really tough shot and somehow I got my nerves together and made a great shot....that win turned into my first top ten finish. Another would be beating Jeanette Lee in a tournament very close to home. My whole family got to see it and it was a great feeling. Anytime I beat a good player or play well against a great player I feel like it is a victory.

The best advice I can give you is don't get discouraged. Your age is something that is probably brought up alot. People don't want to get beat by the "kid" so they lash out a little bit. Don't take what they say to heart. Most of the time those people are just jealous that you are getting such an early start and showing promise. Other advice would be....Finish high school, follow your goals and have fun. If you do that you will be fine.

Thanks again and feel free to ask more questions anytime you want.

Sarah
