In people’s opinions, is there a difference between “Rambow” style butt and “Hoppe” style butt?

To me, colloquially, they're almost interchangeable. I believe "Rambow-style" better denotes bumper-less. Some build "Hoppe-style" cues (white ring/black butt cap) but add a bumper.

There’s some who swear a Hoppe style
bumper-less cue hits different than a
traditional butt cap/bumper.. I hit with
a Tascarella Hoppe style cue and it
was a super crisp hit.. YMMV.

Actually, they're not exactly the same. Rambow made some Hoppe style buttsleeves that have been described with the white ring above a small black buttplate, but he also did a larger white (usually ivory) buttplate in some cues. If you look at the cue Paul Newman used in The Hustler, that is that second type of cue, different from the Hoppe style.

All the best,

I had a rare ( to me ) four point ebony Hoppe.

I bought it at a ridiculously low price....suspected it might’ve been hot...
...heard of a guy who had one...out of town...tracked him down and left a couple messages.
He never called....after three years, I sold it.
Would’ve liked to have it thinned down, those butts were thick..made for holding at the
front end of the grip....but i wouldn’t have felt good about it....
