Verl Horn was a cuemaker and a real gentleman. As someone mentioned, he taught others how to make cues. He taught Prather. Verl made his points with a tablesaw in a jig on his lathe in an old service station beside his home. He made components such as buttsleeves and forearms, and sold them to other cuemakers, and you can see a lot of Verl's work in other cuemakers' products today.
I have a sneaky pete just like the one in the picture. I think I paid about $150 for mine just a few months before Verl died. I bought it from Verl in his living room. The room was filled with chests of drawers and dressers that were loaded with pre-made cue parts. Verl certainly made my sneaky pete and all the other cues with the Horn name on them.
