Hours a week

I was just wondering how many hours a week the average AZer puts into playing/practiceing. I only play about 10 or fifteen now days but at one point I was playing at least 50 hours a week. Thats when my only job was working 2nights a week at a pool hall and living with the manager of another. :D :D :D Those were the days :p :p :p good times

Approximately 40-50 hours a week, gotta love being able to stay at home and play pool all day :p

Probably about 20 hours a week, most weeks. Sometimes more, sometimes less. The day job certainly gets in the way. Almost all of my time is practicing - I rarely get to compete seriously. Sounds like I'm falling behind you other fanatics.

With school/homework all that fun stuff i manage with pool hall and being underage and all i get in atleast 10+ hours

10-15 hrs a week for me. Used to be 40+...before the morgtage and the wife and the baby and the dog and the lawn and the laundry and the commute and the grocery shopping and the AZB forum and, well, sad story, eh?!

I play about 12 hours. 6 hours on Sunday and 6 hours on Sat. I got school so I cant play during the week....

Except for the baby, sounds like your living at my house.

Sad Indeed!

Hours

I practice 30 to 35 hours a week, but this does not count time spent in league or tourneys ( 2 tourneys a week ). I also work full time. I don't sleep much.

Sounds like I'm the only one with his priorities straight. :)

Just kidding

Yes Sniper, you are right. You've shamed me into changing my priorities. I'm on my way to the bank to withdraw the kids college money, so I can bet it on the ring 9-ball game at the local hall - I'm sure I can win eventually - after all there's no luck involved in 9-ball.

P.S.- It's like one pro said (maybe Grady in his book) , "there's no secret to getting good at pool, just quit your job, get a divorce, and learn to live on little income." :) :) :)

Well, school keeps me busy but I try to get an hour in every day. Sometimes two or three. It's tough, with the studying, drinking, sleeping, drinking, and eating.

When I'm home during the summer or Christmas break, I usually get 4 or 5 a day. and 6 or so on my days off.

5-7 if I'm lucky....work has been insane lately, so I've been working long hours (and damnit all I am a salaried employee too).

Back in the day, it used to be ten hours a day like clockwork....I was at my local hall so much, the owner of the hall put me on his Christmas card list.....still am to this day.

Right now, 10 -15 hours a week, though there was a time when it was more like 25 hours a week.

Hmmm, I really thought these figures would be higher. I thought I'd be way behind, but looks like I'm in the middle somewhere.

Monday - 1
Tuesday - 1
Wednesday - lesson, 2
Thursday - league night, 1
Friday - 1
Saturday - 4
Sunday - 3

Total 13 to 17 cause these were minimum figures.

About 20 hours give or take a few depending on what I have to do on a particular week.

Interesting thread... at least now I know why I suck... I usually get about 10 - 15 hours a week of practice, although I would love to get more.

It shows we all have various committments. It makes me curious what Keith and some of the other pros on here practice a week, in comparison

On Accu-Stats they now show player profiles and one of the items on there is practice time. The only two I can remember right now were for Ralf Souquet (6 hours a day) and Alex Pagulayan (4 hours a day, if I remember correctly).

I wasn't gonna put this on my post original because I assumed people would know I was kidding, I did put it on my post and it seems people still don't realize that I was kidding...GEESH.

Staying on topic Steve Davis has been quoted as saying he practices 12 hours a day  Hence his six World Snooker Championships, I don't know if he still practices this much I doubt it but 12 hours a day is crazy. I wonder what the most Efren has practiced?
