House due recommendation

I'm buying my first table for the home and am putting together a game room. Does anyone have recommendations for a reasonably priced but well made and decent hitting cue for friends?

Thanks!

Ditto on the McDermott Lucky house cues. But for just a few bucks more, you can get the McD Lucky 1,2,3,4,and 5. Decent 2 piece cues in 5 different colors.

Lucasi also makes a really decent house cue. I got a set of 4 different with different weights for $90. They are actually built as two piece cues and permanently glued together as one piece, but great for having something totally playable for guests.

Best billiards Lv (Vegas) had diamond branded ones that were hands down the best 1pc cues I have ever seen /played with.

I have Mc Dermotts that were made by Duffy. At least I think so because of that clear window. Anyway to quote Mrs. Clinton "What difference does it make?" If a guest cares about pool, they have their own cue. If they don't care, a good cue won't help and if their really good they can still beat you with a rake handle.

I've had the shafts of three different good cues dinged by guests wacking the table light. Now I keep anything good locked up. You want to play with a nice cue? Bring it.

I had a half dozen 1 pc house cues that I stored upright in an unconditioned but not extremely cold or damp basement.for about 7 years when I was without a home table. The Lucasi was the only one still straight when I pulled them out of storage last year.

I have four of these also, one of which is a 48 inch cue. I've needed it in two different dwellings now;) They came with my Olhausen, courtesy of Sammy Jones.

For a home, I would suggest sneaky petes....
....with extra shafts.
If a cue warps, it's usually the shafts....
...and if you don't do your own re-tipping, it's easier to just take the
shaft only to your local repairman.
