I was playing my 9-ball league match at this bar last night, and they had a strange rule that I've never seen. I could tell they very serious about this rule because they had it posted in 2 different locations right near the pool table. See the attachments below.
The bar has a strict 'no messe' rule. It doesn't say anything about any kind of pool shot, just 'messe.' WTF does that mean? Maybe it's French or Tex-Mex spanish meaning not to make a mess. I should've asked.
Can anybody please define that term? I'll rep whoever comes up with the best definition.
I understand them not wanting to allow jump shots because some drunken fool that can barely hold a pool cue might scoop the ball and rip the cloth. But what's wrong with 'messe'? I just don't understand.
