how are you doing in league play ?

I've lost two games out of the 33 I have played this season. So it's been a pretty good year.

31-2 huh ? yea i would say its been a good year for you. although my record is nowhere near yours i would say its a good year for me also.

i am happy with how much it has improved over the last 2 months.

To me it seems league play and handicapping can really mess with your mind if you let it.

Ideally, if everyone's handicap was 100% accurate, everyone's win percentage would be close to 50%. If you win too much, maybe you are under handicapped. If you lose too much, maybe you are over handicapped.

I had a high win % last season, especially if you included my playoff games. This season, my HC was raised and my win % has dropped to 47%.

my lo is on 1 of the teams i play on . last sunday at double jeapordy another team he plays on was playing on the tables next to ours. before our matches started he complimented me on how well i was shooting lately and if i kept that up i would be a 7 by next session.

that messed my mind up and in my 9 ball match i was down 17-3 after the 1st 2 racks. i finally got my act together and wound up scoring 22 points in a losing effort to a 6. i am currently a 4 .

in my 8 ball match i was completely focused beating another 4 by 4-0.

you can have the best cue, tip , chalk or whatever but if your head aint in it you gonna lose.

Hey, I actually won a match tonite, in 9-ball! :p

Beat a decent SL5, 31-30. Nice to actually win one for a change, and it helped bring the team back to an even split, 50-50, for the night. Considering we started out with three losses in a row, it was a moral victory for us.

Funny, my opponent kept racking with the 1 back on the spot, not centered. I didn't really feel like starting anything, we're all friends. But he was consistent, every time he racked it was on the back half of the spot. Usually something like that would get me stewing, and mess me up. instead, i just had fun with it, trying different places to break from. Yes, I need to get Joe Tuckers book!

FYI

The lower the rack is from the spot, the easier it is to make a wing ball.

When I get a rack like that my mouth begins to water. Sorta like a Pavlov's dog thing ;)

That is what I had read here before, but I couldn't seem to find that advantage. I think that is partly what kept me from getting upset, actually more curious as to why I couldn't take advantage of what was supposed to be a good think.
