How builds the best shafts

It really depends on what type of shaft you like.
Stereotypically if you want a shaft that is longer and thicker, you could look to some of the ones coming out of Africa. If you like a shorter thinner shaft you might check the ones coming from Asia. If you're not really sure, and you want to try a few out before you purchase there's always a lot you can try out in San Francisco. ;)

Edit: removed the post due to my mistakenly reading the title as "How to select the best shaft"...sorry

i got the smallest one of all time, and i'll lay 3 to 2 on the $$$$ on that:eek::eek::eek:

Mike Gulyassy makes the best shafts in my opinion...My SPTX is the nuts. It's so good I'm thinking about another one, just in case he forgets how he makes 'em...;)

Btw, if you happen to need some more help, and your female; you can send me a picture of your butt-end, and ill see if I have a good shaft for it... ;)

I prefer guitar neck shavings glued together into the perfect plywood answer to practice..

seriously if you spend enough you can eliminate practice.. try and see.....

I thought Who started playing baseball, and How took over his shop... Interesting...

Keith makes the shafts I prefer, but I'm use to them, and it's all I ever play with. What were you playing with before? Did you like it? If so, go with that. If not I can recommend something, but need to know whay you like.

Good luck.

I hate them, lol I really do. I like old school shafts, I recommend them because they are good for most people.

I am with you. Fake boobies for pool cues...I got no use for 'em.

I have shafts I really like from (in no particular order):
James White
Pat Diveney
Paul Dayton
Mark Bear (:crying:)

And, yes I have a bunch of others.

Are you going to ask aboout the best ferrule material, length, diameter too?
THERE IS NO BEST!

I bought a players shaft for a back up on my Joss. It plays just as good as any other shaft I had. It only cost $39.

Szamoti, Gina and other high end makers are the best for conventional. My Schick has shafts with unbelievable wood. I have a Scrugs SP with a Phillipi shaft it is old shaft real good hit. The best makers have good wood I mean real good. The wood is not as critical for engineered shafts. I doubt you can get Gina, Szamboti or Schick to make you a replacement shaft. For sure will make shafts try Diveny I know they make good shafts and will work with you.

MISCELLANEOUS
New shaft for non-Diveney cues – $175 and up
Diveney Custom Cue replacement shaft – $150 and up
Lakesalvage shaft – $200 and up

I have a OB2 it is a good shaft. s for engineered. OB is probably the best of the engineered shafts in my opinion and they support pool. They have multiple flavors for a variety of hits and they are a bunch of good guys. OB is made in America and they support pool.

They have multiple shaft type they cost $235 msrp maybe cheaper ont he street here and there.

Go OB or Diveny
