How did you get your negative rep points?

I just checked my rep points and it appears as though someone who was just given a suspension gave me negative rep as a going-away present...lol.

Have you ever been given negative rep and, if so, under what circumstances?!

I got negative rep on a post in which I said that I wouldn't vote for racists and bigots. Not sure why.

Cheers,
RC

I got negative rep for saying that i thought a certain brand of cues wasnt worth the hype...........lol

So far I've only got one. The poster hit the wrong button. He wrote a very nice note and gave me negative. No sweat, it's the thought that counts.

Thank you.

A person must have points to give/subtract points. If someone were to join two weeks ago and not have any rep points, when they try to leave you good or bad rep, it will not add or subtract from your points. Grey is basically neutral as best as I can tell. You'll have to try & guess from the message (if they left one) as to whether they were trying to leave you positive or negative rep.

Oh yeah, in answer to the original question... LOL, yeah I've gotten neg rep (surprise, surprise  ). There haven't been very many and all were from people that I've had disagreements with here out in the open public forum except for one... someone that's already posted in this thread left me negative rep because I called another poster and their friend out for stalking a pro that sometimes posted here.

FTR, as best as I can tell... myself & the other guys are all cool. I wonder if the person that left me neg rep still has issues with me or if I've redeemed myself to them? ;)

What a coincidence. I've gotten one bad rep so far, guess who from? Busy bee.

Wow! I guess he missed me this go around. The one and only negative I got was from the same person. I made a smarta$$ remark, and got completely attacked both publicly and via PM's...some of them were real dillies.:)

All I can say is, when you stir the $hit pot briskly, be prepared to be covered in it!

So, a grey point is neutral, but it is not like someone can actually leave an intentional neutral point, it was supposed to be either a positive or a negative point that someone tried to leave me, is that correct?
Will this point turn into red or green over time as this member gathers more points?

Lol

I got a positive rep and a negative rep for the same post .... LOL

All I can say is there are only 2 types of people in the world:

1) Those you like better, the more you know them.
2) Those you like less, the more you know them.

I received negative rep for correcting someone on spelling South West incorrectly and made a joke about it. And the person was kind enough to even sware at me in the comments section.

The first time I gave bad rep points for was in error to: Jude Rosenstock.
This was b/c I didn't realize it when I was doing it, I meant to give POSITIVE rep points. Jude Rosenstock made me aware of this. Jude Rosenstock, thanks for letting me know and not giving me bad rep points for that.... again I apologize for the error. Btw, zeeder, that's an awesome avatar.... do u have any other pics of this cue, or does anyone have any details about it?

Thanks!

This is an unusual system for a forum, isn't it? I haven't seen it before.

One can not leave a grey/nuetral rep point intentionally.

And no.

hey- i don't even know if i got bad Rep :-)
i know to goto user cp but it says i have 155 rep points but only shows 'most recent'
any way to see the old ones???
<some day i'll really get all this forum stuff down LOL>

This thread leads me to a question I've been wondering about. We know that the more rep points a member has, the more rep points you get when they give you rep. What happens, then, if someone who is in the red (such as Cuetechasaurus, for example) gives you negative rep?

P.S.--I'm not trying to call Cuetech out or anything, but he is just the most obvious example of someone in the red.

I'm pretty sure it turns out grey, which is neutral and doesn't do anything at all towards your rep score.

I am confused to what Negetive Reps are. I can't see anything in anyones profile to figure out what you guys are talking about. Someone enlighten me. What are they and how do you get them and how do people know you got them?

I got negative rep when it used to be anonymous - the poster's name didn't show. I had posted an inquiry as to whether anyone knew why this one pro player acted the way he did and the poster called me a very unflattering word. Then the rep became "unanonymous" and I found out who she was (surprise, surprise  ).
