How do the carom Tiger cues vary from their pool cue counterparts?

I'm in the market for a near budget billiard cue, and I was wondering if the Carom Tiger butt + carom shaft & radial Predator for pool would be a good value.? Entry level Tigers seem like a solid investment, even better if I can just buy a standard shaft for switching games.

So are the butts the same, standard length as a pool cue (29" inches)? I know that overall they are shorter, at 56" inches total, but I wonder if they're a 50/50 split proportion.

Time to study the Bob Byrne books I hijacked from my billiard club. Thanks!

I don't know that much about Tiger Cue. you might check with Zensteve or email caromcorner. There a discount for Tiger if you're a Usba member.

For a combination Carom/Pool Cue I would check out Schuler Cue New or Second hand on ebay. interchange shafts.

the tiger carom cue joint is not 50/50, the butt is 28.75", shaft is about 27.25". also the radial joint on tiger carom cues is larger in diameter than the standard pool size, so stock radial aftermarket shafts will screw on, but be mismatched at the joint. you could always get a partial and have it custom matched though. the other thing is that the balance is different on the tiger butts, more rear balanced. the radial pin is aluminum so it's lighter up front. you could probably use the same cue butt for both games and switch shafts and it would be OK, but i think it's better to have a dedicated cue for each game as there are some differences.

I've hit with a friend's Schuler, and really liked it, but the joint is too proprietary. I don't want to have a conversion made on aftermarket LD shaft.
