How do those predator quiet rollers

sorry if someone already posted their opinion on the predator sp. I will post mine. My first cue was a cheaper mcdermot, then i bought an ikon played for a month felt kind of like a plank sometimes when i hit. Still a great cue. Then i broke it and traded straight across for a predator sneaky pete, no steel joint. I had a z2 shaft on it and loved it ever since. Currently want to try ob2 classic though. Anyways i highly recommend predator products they have an excellent thing going for them.

not only do i like the look of the ss joints in the back of my mind i'm always worried about the wood to wood joint breaking or something. like the wood might mushroom like a tip

Just played a 3 hour session with a Quiet Roller #2 and let me tell you,its been years since I felt a cue this good in every aspect. It had a medium Morri tip and the cue hit so so solid and true, it exceeded my expectations in great lengths. With those Pheonolic wafers at the top of the joint and at the bottom of the shaft which I think provides a stiffer hit with a load of great feedback.I've heard some people say Predators have a dead feel. There is no way this cue has a dead hit unless your hands are fake or you have no circulation to your fingers. If I had more than 2 thumbs they would be up for this cue.Truly an awesome cue that I have to go and purchase one for sure.Take care:wink:

I have the QR2 myself, and while I wouldn't say it had the purest tone I've ever heard, the initial results, i.e., (pocketed balls) were impressive....I will comment further once I get to log some more table time with it.

I own the quietroller 2 cue with both 314/2 and z/2 shaft. I like 314/2 better plays more like a traditional cue.

Things I like:
wrapless
good feedback/ good feel
very well balanced (most balanced cue I've played with)
stiffer/firmer hit
feels like one piece cue
deep grain
simple yet beautiful

Things I don't like:
If you don't stroke well or you hit too much english you get a off sounding hit. But I found the better I stroked the ball and stayed closer to center ball the less I got this. Other than that it hits solid other wise.

I did not like this cue when I first got it. I almost immediately went back to my other cue but the more I played with it the better I shot with it and I have never been more consistent than I am with this cue now. I do advise getting this cue and it is worth the money. I do not advise the z/2 shaft unless you have a snooker background. I played with the z/2 shaft for about 6 months and I got used to it and played very well with it but longer shots are more misable. I find 314/2 to have more traditional hit. I run out much easier with thicker taper. Don't get me wrong z/2 has its perks too. I guess its just preference.

I do not advise a harder tip with this cue. It has a stiff hit as it is a harder tip will be overkill. I advise a softer/medium hit. Everest that is standard on 314/2 is a good combination for this cue.

I've had more people ask me about this cue than any other cue that I've owned in the past even though I've had this cue less than a year. Anyone who shoots with mine loves it.

I'm interested in getting a Predator QR2 and I was wondering how does the wood to wood joint hit/feel?

I normally play with a Schon STL8 with a 314-2 and a Predator Willie Hoppe with a Z2 shaft.

Thanks.

I think you'll be very impressed!

I'm a big lucasi fan.. but i have been thinking about getting a predator soon.. I don't have a shop close by nor do many people around my area are able to afford the money for one so that i could see how it feels before playing with it.. I have the z2 for right now and it took me some time getting used to it.. but i have fallen in love with it.. I'm worried that switching cues will change the whole feel of the shaft again...

If your cue is straight together and apart, and you are happy with it, and making balls/winning games....stay with it. If anything, just go buy a 314-2shaft, and put it on your cue.....You'll be pennies ahead, and you can experiment with both. Just my opinion.
