Nothing.

It occurs to me my teacher was really an *(&^.

I said, "Nice shot" to him early on and he let me have it:

(read this in a southern accent for additional flavor):

"What the *^% are you, my f&^* cheerleader? I'm not playing football, I don't need a *&)(*& cheerleader! I know it was a good (*)& shot because I did it. And if I get out, or you give me ball in hand, I'll know it was a great *&(^ shot- I don't need you to tell me nothing while you're sitting there. Now- you got anything else to say?"

Why am I the Colonel? Because I always get the chicken

More often then not a slight nod, if anything at all. I think the "nice shot" is even if from a good place is dumb. I know it was a good shot I don't have such a fragile ego I need you to stroke it for me, and I'm her to play pool not pump up your ego either.

If I'm in a tournament I will tend to say nothing, perhaps make a comment after that game or when it's my turn and I'm coming to the table.

In a friendly game I will certainly compliment a good/creative shot or strategy.

Not sure if you were supposed to be able to vote for more than one ... I did. I tap my cue and also verbally tell them "Nice shot." I do this even if they are the kind to shark me a little when I'm shooting. I only play in friendly games so a little sharking is almost expected. I do appreciate a good shot, even if it's not me making it!!
