How do you execute this shot?

High left english, you have to hit it full enough to keep the spin but not so full it dives forward too early and hits the other ball before you catch the rail.

Like many of these shots, table conditions are a huge factor. You might have to stroke the hell out of it on a slow table with dirty balls.

Ok, I'm going to try that next time I'm out.
I was looking at System Sid's 3 cushion book. There is a section in his book where he talks about different strokes for billiard shots. Are there any videos that demonstrate the different strokes?

The widest variety is probably on a video by Kozoom that shows all of the artistic billiards shots done by Jean Reverchon. Some of those shots are on YouTube.

The customary method is a straight follow-through stroke. When executing this stroke you should pay special attention that you are keeping your stroke very straight or even slightly upwards. Make sure that you are not inadvertently coming down on the cue ball which can nullifiy the follow-through action you need. A common mistake most players make is that they hit the cue ball way too hard. Practice with a soft follow through stroke and then slightly increase your speed maintaining the follow-through stroke and you'll see how the cue ball reacts slightly different with varying speeds.

Wow, those are are some very good observations and excellent advice. I am looking forward to getting back to the table and trying that.

Correction on Sid Banners book. What he actually does say is that you should alter your stance based on the shot. I, personally, don't do this. And I don't recall seeing any champions do this either. Any thoughts?
