What I mean by that...is your case is loaded with cues, your daily rig? I lay mine flat on the floor. Maybe hanging it would be better?

Are we talking once we are at the hall or at home?
At the hall I usually have my cues out and setup on a rest. Like one of those cue claw things and I lean my case on a wall. If there is no wall or place to rest my cues, I keep my case and cue lying on the table next to the one I'm playing on.
Depends on what I'm doing also, if I'm going to play 14.1 or one pocket, I bring one cue and a 1x1 case and keep the case under the table while I'm playing.
I have the predator soft case 4x8. I only use 2x4 of it. I usually just keep it propped up in the corner near my front door with my cues in it if I havent been shooting at home...

Simple question...when you get home...where does it sleep? You don't want to leave it in the car? It's as much a question about what's inside as it is outside?

All mine are stored in the upright position, I have the gun safe positioned a few inches away from the wall the corner it sits in, so the space is perfect for my cases and keeps them from falling or getting knocked over.
The older ones, I don’t play with much are back in the corner and the ones I use the most are near the ends.

I took advice from Ernie Gutierrez, keep the cues away from any exterior walls. I keep my cues in my bedroom (in the middle of the house) in my JB Rugged 3x4 case standing vertical. The flat rubber bottom and my stained concrete floors keep the case standing upright.
Whenever my cues are in my truck, they are in the case laying on my back seat. I never leave them in my truck any longer than an hour (if I'm on my way to play and stop for food or gas).
my cues sleep in the case but I unzip the case never leave it close it's up right in a corner in my room. At any pool hall the cues stay in the case till it's time to play but I also unzip the case. the reason for the unzipping is for the cues to accumulate to the surrounding temperatures.
I keep a very competent Stratford Sneaky Pete in a 1x1 case in the trunk of my car, with a cube of chalk and a tip tapper for those moments when I stumble upon a spare moment and happen to be near a table in my daily travels...
For my "main" player case with my "nice" cues, it only makes its way out to the car when I am leaving the house and know 100% I'm going to play.
When in the house, it's stored upright in a closet corner.

Vertical, unless in a room with unknowns then under the table during play, and interior wall temps are Important at home.
The interior of my 20 yr old Whitten Case is like a perfect humidor. Of all cases I've had, this interior makes the cue feel good, not dried out, and aged and dense, like thirty year old wood should feel. Don't know of another case interior that addresses the critical needs of a wooden instrument, but my guess is the learning curve from great case makers of woodwind instruments was Key in whittens endeavor. Great job RIP ma man.

I can always count on the Cocobolocrapper. A thread about storing your cues and he lists everything that is in his case.
I have an old nail keg, and I put my cases in there, it holds them upright. Mine is a little larger than the picture and it holds 4 cases upright easily.

Sits in the passenger side floor board of my truck leaning at a 45 degree angle angainst the seat, for about 5 years straight. I take them in every so often and clean the shafts and work on my tips. People say not to leave them in the heat and cold. I don't know why I do it. Laziness? Defiance? But where I live they are no places to play, so I like them with me when I leave work in case I've got the itch to play.
