How Do You Run Out Here? (1)

Mully, I rest my case, I have seen the light. Just one question. Why are you not playing in the Open?;-)

Yeah, I really don't like to get out and show my true speed. Gotta keep it on the down low so it doesn't blow my action.

Which is why I would do as 14.1 said. You've actually got a fair chance of getting hooked your way, and with my luck, I would be!

Well no, I wouldn't worry about being hooked. What concerns me most is catching the side pocket point. I like two shots here, come around two or three rails off the two, its a really big target. Or carom the 4 off the 8. It appears there not frozen so the angle is fairly easy to predict.

Oh I forgot to mention, Colin's example has merit but you could easily end up with a tough angle on the 4 or top the 5 or close to the rail or all three.

Another option if you don't like the odds on bumping the 4-8 combo well from the position you end up in.

Just find the half ball angle on the bottom rail and try to get there. A big margin for error on this cannon and should get a makable shot on the 4 ball.

This one was the one which came to me the first time I looked at at the layout and though others are also good to go I seem to keep coming back to that instinctive first choice.

I'd prefer a slightly more obtuse angle between cue ball and 4 ball than that shown by Colin but with the possible exception of Stevie Wonder it's nearly impossible to miss the 6/5 combo or to lose the cue ball when splitting the 4/8 from a cue ball position just about anywhere above that cluster.

The only real care that's needed is the pace of the split of 4/8. The more obtuse angle that I mentioned would make that part slightly easier.
