How do you search through the Main Forum?

There are several different ways apparently to search through the forum.

ONe way is to go up to the tabs at the top and click on Search-Find today's Posts-Find New Posts- OR you can do the advanced searches.

Currently when I click on Main Forum, I see some very old posts and threads on the first screen. Some of the posts say "Today" referring to the date of the post but in fact they are quite old. The first thread that's not a sticky note is Pool Trivia and jsp is the last poster for "today" which actually it is a much older post.

When YOU click on Main Forum, do you see Pool Trivia as the first thread just below the sticky notes?

You would think that it would be logical that when you click on Main Forum, it would bring up all of the posts in chronological order AUTOMATICALLY. To see the current posts I have to click on Last Post or Search - Today's Posts.

Is there some settings that you can set that will allow you to automatically see the CURRENT posts and threads AUTOMATICALLY? I thought in the past, that this was automatic.

Some people complain that I make posts and don't go back to them, and the truth is that I do occasionally forget about a post that I made and sometimes fail to go back to the thread.

Any thoughts would be appreciated about how you manage your settings or how you search.

Thanks,
JoeyA

i like to read the action reports and whats going on in the world... also i like to see other poeple's idea's of "how to" when it comes to shooting shots and getting position... other than that i dont really get involved too much.

Joey, I think you can just click on the column header titled "Last Post" and it will sort them for you. I've never had to do that, but on my screen that column header has a little arrow in it showing that the list is sorted that way for me. Maybe you'll see a little arrow in another column header showing you how yours are sorted...

Yes:
There are two ways:
When u reply back to a post, simply subscribe to the thread, select 'no e/m notification'*, and when u want to go back simply click on Links and select 'Subscribed Threads'
OR
Goto: UserCP>EditOptions>Messaging & Notification>Default Thread Subscription Mode and select: 'no e/m notification'*

*That is of course, u want to be notified by e-mail that someone replied to your thread/post.

I hope that helps.

Left Click...

I like the feature where you can left click on someone's screan name and find more posts by that person.

You can really get a feel for who someone is by doing this.

I think there is something in your User Control Panel or User CP where you can adjust some of the search options or the way AZ loads up.

OK, I got that.

If you log onto www.azbilliards and then click on the tab that says Forum
It will bring you to the Main Category where you can then click on Main Forum:

When you click on Main Forum, what is the name of the first thread below the sticky notes that you see?

Thanks,
JoeyA

It changes from minute to minute - every time I refresh the page it's different, because it puts whatever thread has the most recent new post in it on top. The second thread is the one with the next most recent new post, etc.

Have you tried clicking on the "Last Post" column header?

If I read it right I think JoeyA is referring to the old threads that come up on the screen. If you click on the square (I think it's supposed to be a icon of a note) at the right lower side under last posts it gives you the newest post on that subject... which usually would be the last day it was replied to.. today.
