Can someone tell me how they figure out the top gun award? from what date to what date? and take a look at the link, the player stats sheet has a top gun number and I am wondering what it means? Thanks for any help, I have not lost a match since the beginning of the Summer session and am wondering what I need to be able to qualify, I am 16-0 as of now.

thanks, Nate.

In my league two players from each skill level with the most points for the session are invited to the annual Top Gun tournament. Points are determined from wins. If you beat an SL5, you get 5 points.

befor you get to worried about it you should call the L.O. amd make sure its worth somthing..the div. i play in, winning it is just for braging rights. my girlfriend won it a session last year, i told her she would get an award, she doesnt, calls the L.O. to see why, he says i dont give out anythig for that, im sleeping with the dog for a week...lol

LOL, I know they give a trophy out, but, its for winning the Top Gun for the whole year not just a session. I just want to know the rules for qualifying and how you accumulate the points ect...., I am trying to go undefeated but want to know if its more than that??

I was told it was for the "gun" with the best record against the other "guns" from the other teams. Not quite sure how exactly it works, but makes sense to me since I don't think I've seen 2s or 3s get it. All I've gotten are patches.

Congrats on the good play.

Take the top gun number and divide it by the numbers of plays. This gives you the average handicap you are beating. So, a 3 paying ten matches un defeated against 3s would be 30 whereas a 7 beating five 5s and a 6 would be 31. Looks to me like you have beaten three 5s and a 6 maybe?

Top Gun Points systems

First, let me say that Top Gun awards and how they are determined are left strickly up to each respective League Operator so you need to check with yours for the actual system they use.

In our area which is Fort Worth, Texas, Top Gun points are earned by winning your match then you get points based on the skill level of the player you beat; if you beat a s/l 6, then you earn 6 points and so on, if you loose your match you get no points. The player in each of our skill level brackets (2/3, 4/5, 6/7) who accumulates the most points during the session is our Top Gun for their respective bracket and receives an individual Top Gun trophy and a Top Gun patch.

We do hold a yearly tournament for all of our players that finished 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the Top Guns standings in each of our three sessions and the 1st Place finishers in our three brackets each wins a custom Don Wallace cue. Don is a local cue maker in our area and he has been making cues for many years.

One of the most important parts of running a good league, any type of league is to communicate with your players, remain consistant and maintain good quality customer service. Hope this helpful in answering your question.

You need to put on your "thinking cap" more often. You could have gone down to your local trophy shop, and had a nice little trophy made for your girlfriend, for less what it costs for the two of you to go to a movie! Instead of b*tchin' and moanin' about things, do something yourself to make a difference (i.e. the example above).

to bad you, (unlike the guy that wrote the thread) didnt see the joke...

and for the record every ? i ever took to the corp office was answerd.until she switched jobs i had the direct # to the gal that was in charge of my region. my L.O. doesnt have the greatest rep so going to them doesnt always do much.

maybe some day ill take one of your classes, when its over you can give me a lesson on maturity, and b*tchen & moanin. heck you might even be able to help me with my typing. and i guess ill bring my girlfriend along seeing how shes the one that call the L.O. to simply see if she was going to get a trophy

sorry for highjacking your thread Nate i just thought that was ridiculous

It's like others have already said, it's up to the L.O. in your area. Here in RI each division gets awarded 2 Top Shooter trophies. One male, one female. Top record in your division gets it, minimum 7 matches played. Ties are settled by Top Gun scores, after that I don't know.
