How does USBA promote 3C for College and Universities with 3C Tables?? Or where is a list of Colleges or Univeristies with 3C table?

Reason for question check out: SIUE Morris University Center in Edwardsville,IL outside of St.Louis,IL

The Billiard room consists of nine championship size pool tables, a pro size table, a snooker table, and a three-cushion billiard table.

I was very glad to see this post. I got my start in carom billiards at the college I attended—there was one table there, and it was enough to hook me for life. I did not know there were any colleges left with carom tables. But I have also thought for a long time that now, as when a very long time ago I was a student, colleges are a natural place to promote the carom game. I have even thought about the possibility of holding USBA 3-cushion tournaments on college campuses—to capture the imaginations of the typically inquisitive college student and to plant seeds about the game in what may be fertile soil. Of course there would be many logistical problems to solve, not the least of which is having enough tables there to have such a tournament. But it sure makes for interesting thought.

If you know the name of someone at these colleges that I can be in touch with about providing some carom instruction or tournament possibilities please send me a PM. Also, if any of you know of other colleges that have carom tables, please let me know about that as well.

Bruce College is also where I first learned to play. If my memory is right Brunswick set up many of the State University Student Centers around the country with Bowling and Billiards. Most if not all of these rooms included 1 3-Cushion table. SIU Carbondale is one for sure. Champagn, Normal, ...

Look for the Schools with Asian, European, Middle East, Mexican, S. American student population and you have a ready 3C market.

As far as tournaments are concerned just do 1 table 6 or 8 players. Or how about sending a couple of US Top Players around for Exhibitions and Teaching. This could be done by region.

A good research of College and University might just turn up a few dozen or so 3C tables, not listed on USBA Web.

So Mr. Warner you're saying your Regional Directors Haven't focus on possible College/University in their area with 3C tables, and losing all those possible memberships for USBA????????

Tom, Do you figure Illinois Colleges might have 10 3C table throught out the State??
Bob, It wouldn't surprise me a bit. If we looked at the larger State Universities across the country I believe many or most would have one table, especially if these Colleges upgraded their facilities in the mid to late 60's. Brunswick did a good job with their primary focus at the time being bowling. So I'd key on colleges with bowling alleys.

Another thing I learned a couple of weeks ago is there's still unknown/forgotten tables in the fraternal organizations like the Elks, Moose, and Masons. I was visiting with Sandy Sims (Harry's widow) who is a Mason and she tells me there's a table just across the Mississippi at the Mason Lodge she sometimes visits. It was a shocker. I thought I knew every table within 500 miles of home.

Yeah, as for college just do a google search using Bowling and Billiard might be surprise at the result. And USBA Director thought their job was getting easier. Wait still they see the snooker table. Didn't Bob Jewett get involve with the USA Snooker org.?
There some many little jewel hidden throughout the USA
