Hello out there:
I was wondering if anyone out there can tell me exactly how the machine works. I looked for a video but couldn't find one out there on youtube or related sites. In the pictures I see where you can sand the ferrule flat and I beleive the other side is for trimming the tip. Are there any means to shapping the tip to nickle or dime shapes? And also is there a centering mechanism for putting the tip on the ferrule. Any explanations or diagrams would be very helpful.
Thanks
Ron

There is not a tip shaping jig or apparatus. There is a way to center the tip on the ferrule and then trim the tip.

The cue is inserted in the collett which is not opposite the sander but is opposite the trimmer. The trimmer comes out of the housing and is replaced by a collett which holds the tip. You put the tip iin the end of the collett, put some glue on the tip, insert the collett in the housing and push the cue and the tip together and let the glue dry. Remove the tip from the collett and remove the collett from the housing and replace it with the trimmer and trim the tip. Remove the cue, burnish the tip and VIOLA! Very easy.
