how good is Jung-Lin Chang?

Based on the quality of the Asian Tour, id say a definite yes. When you win 4 times in a row, i think that states you are the best on that tour and when you are not being beaten that says you just dont know the extent of the mans talent but you know it is exceedingly high. If anyone were to play him in a challenge match in Asia, Ill bet on him no matter who he is playing though id be biting my lip real hard if it were Yang.

Chang is the best player that has come out of Taiwan so far. better than Chao, Wu and Yang. guy got a strong break break and probably at par with Dennis' skills. except that Dennis must learn consistency on his breaks.

Winning 6 out of the last 9 events he has played in. Quite a feat!

Scott,
I agree, quite a feat indeed.

Far be it from me to toot my own horn (:) ), but.....http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=92051&highlight=jung-Lin+Chang.

Fong Pang Chao is the greatest player thus far from Taiwan, hands down, no dispute. Ching Shun Yang has been a disappointment in that he ws expected to be the heir apparent to Chao on the World 9 Ball stage. So far, those expectations have not come to fruition.

I believe that Jung-Lin Chang and Pin-Yi Ko are both future World 9 Ball Champions.

If anyone wants to bet, ill take these two even odds for one of them to win it within the next 4 WPC. Toss in WU and ill give 6/5. $one bettor 500 max.

kickin butt on the Asian tour, not so much otherwise

Is he a world beater?

No, he sucks. There are no good players from Asia!

Pretty incredible winning all those Asian stops and his name barely gets mentioned.

Was it Chang or Ko that ran 11 racks and out against Orcullo with Orcullo on the hill in a Korean tournament?

How good is Chang? I watch him all the time in the Guiness tour and he has almost no weaknesses. He pockets difficult shots with ease. He gets pinpoint position from weird angles. His kicking game is real strong, he jumps accurately. His demeanor is pretty even keeled. Basically he just seems like a bulldog who won't let go.

Personally I think Chia Ching Wu is the "better" player BUT Wu doens't seem to have the same consistentcy or temperment as Chang. Wu will often let a set go through carelessness or impatience. Perhaps it is just that Wu is more fun to watch since Chang is nearly perfect. :-)

It is Ko Pin Yi who ran 11 racks of 8 ball against Orcullo.

I have to agree with you. Wu and Yang is better to watch. I like th solid power of Yang stroke.
