How important is having your own cue?

If you can run two racks and beat a APA 7 with 2 break and runs, why change???

A local room has a few old wallabushka's in the racks that hit real good... Kinda scary good.....never thunk a 57" cue could hit so good, besides that I'd agree with most and say; it's what feels best for you.
You might run racks with a forward weighted cue and I might miscue and not get-out with a forward weighted cue/ which is probably true.
I like a cue that's evenly balanced w/out a weight bolt.
Whatever floats your boat'

I played for 5 years before I got my own cue...then another, then another, then another, and this last cue is without a doubt "the one", been using it about 4 months, guess when my game started improving by leaps and bounds :)

its about getting use to something and never changing. thats all.anybody can play with any cue, but its nice to always play with the same one.

Hey guys --- title pretty much says it all =P

Currently I play with a 19 oz. 12.5mm turned down shaft made by Dufferin and that's my standard cue when playing.

Some players stress the importance of having your own cue - but how important is it really?

Does it affect playability? or English? or anything like that?

Wait. You put together a 2 pack in your APA 8 ball league the other day as a 3, playing against an 8(huh?) to win your 2-7 (again, huh?) race in a shut out because you've been asking questions here about position play for like a week and you pick things up REALLY fast (uh-huh) and now you're asking this question?

Push&Pool, is that you? Maybe we should talk about ram shots and screw-on tips next.

I want to see a video of his backwards pool stance all so. I've seen people who throw balls off the opposite foot (and it doesn't look good) but never someone shooting pool leading with the wrong foot. It'd be interesting.

Art -

I see what you're saying but let me explain.

I've always been a good shot maker because it's not really that tough lining up shots - but I problem I always had until the recent poolhall opened was getting onto the next ball.

Up until about 3-4 months ago I was playing pool blindly - so I hit the books and learning curve hard - watched every YouTube match I could find to see how pros played, took notes on shots that I wondered how they worked, talked to players better than me.

I'm not saying position play was difficult for me - I should be saying that "execution" was the problem. I knew where I wanted to be for the next ball but absolutely could not get there - so growing up I had to learn to shoot well to compensate for that.

Anyhow - I'll see if I can't get a video or two of me breaking opposite footed - I'd actually to see myself doing it as well haha.
