How many of you guys have to go Plow or Get up Snow?

My brother would always make it to the local rural hangout four miles from home when there was a blizzard. The pool table would be opened up, because there wouldn't be anyone else there except for possibly a table of three playing pinochle.

The quarter mile to the main road would be drifted in by the end of the evening, so he would walk to the house and either open the road to get the truck home, or wait until morning. I joined him on the blizzard pool nights a couple years later.

Grow up

I am entering my 30th year of snow fighting and run a crew of 29. We push and haul snow with road graders, loaders, snow plow trucks and tractor trailers. This is a pic of our smallest plow (these trucks are huge).

Sorry about your snow, I wish I could help;)

Cuebuddy>you all come back when you grow up:D

Thats awesome youre doing some major plowing thats for sure.

I have 2 snowblowers, a wittle guy and a behemoth. We only got about 2 inches tops so the wittle guy did his thang. Afterwards to keep this pool related I went downstairs and shot the 9 ball in the corner while Alyssa applauded.

We got 6+ up here Spimp, I would have loved 2", but afterwards I tested out my new jump cue.

pffftt! that's nothing, Michigan! i used to walk to the bus stop in Bloomfield Hills in 3ft, with 5ft walls on the side of the road. ;) but down here, they're idiots - they spend all their time plowing the highways only. i guess they think that if we can all make it to the main roads, then business will flow?

which leads me to a pool thought -

the tourney field is shrinking, for financial reasons. if the promoters change the playing field to accomodate their own constraints, will it force the serious "players" to attend?

The only I know to say here is when there are less chances of making money you have to do what you have to do. Outside of Trade Shows and then only under circumstances will money be made, pool promotion is a good way to go broke.

The only thing I see that makes much sense is for someone who really likes pool to build pool rooms that are set up as arenas and hold the events there. This way the tables, lights and seating are already in place.

There was a place in NC that was close to that but they didnt make it and that was 150 and Out in Mooresville.

Well this year I got voluntold that I had to do Snow Removal at my contract job.

How many of you do the same. I feel your pain.

I watched the my wife clear the walkway and the driveway while I was having hot tea.

Disclaimer; I shredded my Achilles after the snow last week, was suppose to have surgery today but the snow caused me to cancel. And yes I made her hot tea too, and had the electric blanket ready for when she came back in.

I live in Alaska and haven't shoveled or plowed once this year. Talked to my folks in Minnesota last week and it was 30 below and 43 above in KENAI Alaska, I'll take global warming.
