???????????

I once was on a run of one an cue-ball jumped the table on my second break on which I made 3 balls. I think luck has something to do with
running a lot of racks. Skill probably has something to do with it also.
Apparently I don't possess either one. lol

last year during the hard times ipt tour card qualifier on the barbox I was racing with my friend to 11, I was down 10 to 2 I won the 13th rack and then broke and ran 8 in a row to win, Oliver Ortman was watching and his friend told me that I shot really well, a moment I will never forget

A close friend of mine, who is going to remain unnamed unless he says it's OK to reveal his identity, ran 18 racks in a row in a team eight ball tournament on an 8' bar box and a short time later broke and ran 4 racks of Chicago (15 ball rotation) in a ring game with Steve Mizerak and a few other great players on a triple shimmed Diamond 9 footer, after which they all unscrewed and went home.

Wow, that guy shoots better than Efren, it's a wonder nobody knows him (even though he plays with Mizerak and other top pros).

Not to call you a liar, but I smell BS.

4 racks of rotation on a triple-shimmed Diamond?! Impressive feat for a no-name.

Is that you who put 15 racks on the poll too?

6 racks in 8-ball 5-6 times

7 racks of 9-ball many times

Don't know if this counts, I was playing in a mcdermott tour event, I ran 7 to close a match, then at the begining of the next match I ran 4, So mine might be 11 but, I'll say 7. And to add to the story, I jumped the cueball of the table on my 5th break the guy got up and ran 9 and out. Thats how I got introduced to Dave Matlock.

Every time I play on a barbox I'm wasted out of my mind, so I've only run one. Am I the only person like that here? On a 9' my record is 2 at 9 ball.

For some apparent reason, I have played very little on bar boxes with 9 than with 8. The question i really have is: does it matter who u r playing? My record was a 11, but I don't really think that counts as I was only playing in a bar.

When I go out to a bar, and if I feel i had enuff to drink, i normally set a goal of how many racks i can put together (of course, if a pool table is present). On that nite, it happened to be 11. But i mainly average 7. It definitely helps me to get rid of my buzz for one, and secondly it allows me to get used to noisy enviroments. :)

My problem has to do with putting racks together on longer tables (my max on 9 footers is 5). Why is it this?

Note: Played on bar boxes for about 4 yrs in the begining and then exclusively on 9 footers for 3, and now play both.

I don't fill out polls . All of the statements I made are FACTS not BS. If you believe that Efren is the only human on the planet that is capable of these feats, then you haven't watched very many pool players in your life. I saw a road player put an eleven pack on a local house pro for $1,500. I do not say anything that can't be backed up by people with reputations tons better than anyone with their nose up a bulls hiney!

That does seem possible to do those feats, but remaining nameless is not something that's going to happen if a player does those things, especially playing with Mizerak and other pros.

18 racks of 8 ball is not totally absurd on an 8 footer, but it IS a huge accomplishment. Wish I could meet your guy. Hell, maybe we can set something up if you are ever in the Portland or Seattle areas. I know a couple guys that'll play anyone.

Average 7 huh. Jesus I need to start playing more. :)

I was actually thinking 9 ball but if you can put more racks together in 8 ball than 9 ball I'll definately count it. Its been debated which is the harder run but as far as putting racks together 8 ball is harder IMO. It may be easier to run an 8 ball rack more times out of 1000 games BUT to put them in order is another thing entirely considering the more difficult layouts that get thrown in there at random. For instance if you ran 10 racks of 9 ball out of 100 and 12 racks of 8 ball out of 100 I would think the 9 ball would still have a better chance of having a 3 pack in there before the 8 ball 3 pack. Either way congrats! 6 is very impressive.

What was funny was that I didn't know myself how many I had run. He told me how much money he had plugged in without shooting yet, before he left. :p

I don't excel in 9 ball, my record there is only 4 (hardly play it on bar boxes) and the game before that I made a 1/9 combo after he broke, so I ran out the set (was a race to 5). This was on big tables though.

I did win $6 in a ring game against 2 guys though last Friday - 9 ball on a bar box, lol. :D

Glenn Atwell told me that my husband, Mike was stuck 8-0 and ran out the set on him - 9 in a row on a big table. I don't really know what his record is...I'll have to ask.

I was at The poolroom in Ga today and there was some talk of a new place that opened up, and there was also talk that Paul Turner(who is a great bar table player) had just broke and ran 23 racks!!!! I have heard of him doing 26 at one point in his career. Pretty strong if you ask me.

Err, umm, that would be me. I wasn't paying attention when I clicked.

I have run 15+ racks on the bar box, but not in a row and not on the same day either.

Have never tried to play seriously on such equipment.
Where I live, bar players play only last pocket 8ball with some funny rules, nothing else. You can't introduce them to other pool games because they think they know everything. You better not runout on them, because you might get into trouble. Don't even think of playing a safety shot. So no, I have never put any 'packs' on such tables. I'm not into hustling drunks, so there's no point for me to hang out in such places anyway.

Next time you make a poll like this, add the option where it shows the user names that voted, that would make more sense to me.

Is that possible? That would be great! I didn't even vote... I never play on a barbox. Around here, barboxes are in bars, and they suck.

Playing 9-ball, I've ran out, broke and ran 3, and ran a good 1/2 of the next rack before either missing or playing a safe three times...this is on a 9' table with 4 1/2" pockets that like to hang balls. I don't doubt that I can beat this record, but I haven't to date.

Twice I've broke and ran 3 on an 8' table back to back to back, and then failed to make a ball on the break. I rarely play on 8' tables.

I've had nights with lots of break and runs, but honestly, pulling them out IN A ROW is one heck of a challenge! Maybe this year I'll set a new record. Also, there's a hall nearby with HUGE pockets that take everything. I play in a weekly tournament there. Balls are hard to miss up there, and I break and run often, but in a tournament I opt. to play safe before trying to set personal bests...I guess my game might not be the break and run type of play...

"Got me through collage then I stopped playing"

I'm sure you meant College but I guess collage could be a funny joke.

I remember you bringing Jeff to play Brian Groce getting the 7 and Jeff knew he couldn't win but said you wanted him to play and he could win. That was a BBQ.

Sheesh. Go right ahead then. Remake the poll. Sounds like a good idea to me. It will keep people honest. Good suggestion. Good rep for you.:D

I've run 4 racks playing both 9b and 8b. Last time was about 6mos ago or so playing 9b.

I've run 4 racks on a 9' too but that was a while ago.

My head gets in the way after I get to the 5th rack... or I don't make a ball on the break.

on a barbox......hmmm, I think the best I"ve done was a 2 pack on each 8 ball and nine ball. On a 4x8 i've done like 3, 3 packs in my life. Other than that I don't recall stringing too many together. My break isn't that strong and I don't get out every time I'm supposed to.
