How many still have the first cue they ever bought?

The first cue I ever bought was an Eckes cue made a few miles from here in Marshfield back in the mid 70's.
I still have that cue as well as the Meucci 97-11 I bought around 2000 (give or take a few years)
My Meucci 97-11 was a cue that was made for and sold by Mueller sporting goods.
It has a rainbow stained birdseye maple forearm.

I have all the cues I have ever bought with the exception of a used Meucci and a used Huebler. I didn't like the Meucci (the shaft was warped a little), and I hated the "ping" from the Huebler along with its pro taper. I sold them both for break-even.

I still have my first cue, a no-name, non-descript cue my neighbor bought me 25 or so years ago, the very plain vintage Adam someone gave me along with a non-descript cue I was using as a break cue given to me by the same person, the vintage Adam I found on FB (decals, not inlays), the no-name break/jump cue I found on FB, and the custom EAP I had commissioned this past autumn.

The first cue I ever bought was a Kmart special. It's long gone.

The first real cue I bought was a Mali. Bought in the mid 80's...

I still have it and every other cue I've ever bought since.

I beat a guy out of one at a pool room when I was ~18 or so. That was my first cue that wasn't a house cue. I still have it.

Yep, still have it. A McDermott D-2. I still remember the shop owner in Bossier City LA telling me, “Whatever you do, don’t take your eye off this cue, McDermotts are favorites among the thieves right now”. He had me so paranoid that I never took it out, except to play at the Air Force Base Rec Center.

I see none of the Eckes Magnum cues are shown.
I owned one of those as well. They looked the same but said Magnum on the forearm.

1983 - Adam birdseye maple merry widow cue with black nylon wrap and a brass joint. I still have that cue.

OG Falcon... 25 some odd years ago I suppose. Morally forced to buy it after slightly damaging the wrap while demo'ing. Worst thing I ever did was buy a cue.

Older than that I believe is my Marcel&Fils snooker cue. That landed in my hands used, and will never sell it.

Everyone's first cue is always some cheap junk and then you can see the evolution of a collection. LOL

I know a guy looking for a cue to shoot with and another regular brought his entire collection and laid it out on the table. He lined them up from his oldest cue to his newest in hopes the kid will buy it. I can see the first cue being shit and then as you progressed through the lineup it got better and better. He now shoots with a Predator. The evolution is good to see.

My first cue was a custom cue. It was a merry widow. I loved that cue and every cue I had after that couldn't compare. I now shoot with a Mezz and got a cue coming from a hall of fame cuemaker.

I still have my first cue. A Leroy Price sneaky Pete from 1993. It's made out of an old house cue. About 1995 I was at a pro tournament and had Guido Orlandi make me an extra shaft for it.

My first (Players) is the only cue I no longer own. I even have the Ozone 2x2 case I bought for my first Predator in 2010 (I'll never part with that cue).
Chronological from left to right. Played with the SP and Players J/B for 15 years before buying another cue. You could say things escalated quickly...

My first cue was a birthday gift, still have it.
The first cue I bought was the Predator 98-1 (all black)
I sold that cue when I got my next cue - Bill McDaniel Q88, that was around 2001/2, I still have it, still looks like new and plays great.
Here it is with it 2 original shaft and a 314-2 shaft and the Mac Attack next to it.
