How meticulous you are?

I'd like to know how picky you are or share how meticulous other Pro players that you know???

I watched Dennis Orcullo practicing with a new blue diamond chalk. He puts extreme english effortless, but after few racks he miscued. He immediately tossed the chalk to a friend of mine, goes to his case and pick up a new one.
We all know that he's only human but it is not acceptable to him. Maybe this is his secret that brings his game to the next level. Ooops!
I tried to wait until he miscue again, but i got no luck. Maybe next time! haha.:smile::smile:

While driving home, it comes to my mind that pool is not just pure skill.
Everything should be balanced. Controlling your emotion is a must and importantly get rid of any negative things that might affect your game.

Sounds like a confidence factor to me.

Maybe the chalk was a problem, maybe it wasn't. But why line up every shot with that doubt in your head?

I use Masters chalk. The cubes seem to vary a little in how gritty they feel as I apply them. If a cube does not have that just right feel to me I don't use it. Does this mean anything as far as how well the chalk works? I have no clue but it has to have that feel for me.
And I like 3 pieces on the table,2 is not enough and 4 is too many.

I prefer that there is no chalk on the table, but most of the time my opponent doesn't have his/her own. I keep mine in my pocket. I usually play or practice by myself and this usually only bothers me when I'm in tournament play. Most of the time I wont use a piece of chalk if it's over 1/2 used. I can't stand it when I get chalk anywhere other than the top of my tip. It can't be on the sides of the tip or on the ferrule.

I also prefer that my opponent be sitting down while I am shooting. I think its more of a respect issue for your opponent. I feel rushed when someone is standing at the table waiting to shoot.

I try to keep a very repetitive process at the table. It's not helping though. For some unknown reason I keep missing balls. Maybe I need to change something. Perhaps the amount of times I stroke the chalk across my tip.
