How much do new Gold Crowns start at?

The msrp on their website shows their least expensive 9 foot
model at 8499.00

Surely they can't be selling in showrooms for anywhere near that
price when Diamonds sell for half that, can they?

It probably depends upon what part of the country (cost of living) you are located in but I'm sure you can negotiate a better "sale" price if you try.

P.S. Start out with what Diamonds REALLY sell for and try to stay as close to that as you can but expect to pay a little more.

Their website has a very detailed direct to public pricing chart.

Are you saying they sell for more and their prices are false?
 
when i bought my Gold Crown IV brand new back around Christmas of 2003 the dealer had a little sign on the table in his showroom that said $6,199. i got it for $5,600, and most people at the time told me that was a pretty good price for a brand new GCIV delivered, setup, Simonis 860, etc.

however, i dont remember what the MSRP was on the GCIV i bought at that time, sorry.

No...but there are other factors, including having the table shipped to you, set up fees, adding in a light, cloth and balls, etc...not to mention if you want a different wood (i.e.: Mahogany, cherry or rosewood vs. oak) All this takes the Diamond up to probably just short of $6K, depending on where you live. The best buy is to purchase a Diamond, with light, from a tournament site, after the tourney is over. You can probably do the same thing (albeit at a slightly higher cost than a Diamond) with a GCIV if you look hard enough. Nobody wants to have to deal with the tables after a tournament, if they can sell them outright, as a cash and carry item.

Ok, but as far as I know, you pay for all those things regardless of
what brand of table you purchase.

The only difference I can see with a Diamond is you pay for shipping from
the factory at 1.40 per mile, which may cost a little but their 9ft starts at 4300.00 INCLUDING Simonis while the non poly GC retails for 8500.00 without cloth.

I guess the shipping is where it can add up if you live far from the plant.

GCIV Price

I almost bought a 'new' Gold Crown IV 4 1/2 by 9 foot table last fall for $4700.
This was without any cloth or assembly in my home. The price was offered to me by a large Brunswick distributor that I got to know.
Since then I bought a Diamond Pro 4 1/2 by 9 and paid more, but I believe my hard earned money was better spent.

The Gold Crown 4s are more expensive because there is way more into the table than a Diamond. The leveling system of a GC4 is state of the art. If I owned a pool hall a GC4 is what I would want.

However for my house I'd much prefer a Diamond. They are better looking tables and I love the non-rubber pockets.
