I used to practice about 5 hours a week, but now I hardly ever practice. I was wondering how much others practice.

I play one hour a week at lunch and one night of league. It's so hard to keep any kind of quality stroke. Right now I'm in some kind of slump that is painful to watch

1-3... if by practice you mean getting my @$$ kicked by better players...

I haven't really gotten down and practiced hardcore for a long time... in terms of drills or that sort of thing.

I know I'm really not progressing into getting much better because of this, but it's hard to find the time these days...

Call me Dr. Pool

I am like a Pool Physician, always Practicing, just Practicing, trying to get it RIGHT...... :)

When I say practice, I mean by yourself or with an instructor, no matching up. Quality practice working on specific drills or shots.

I try to get a solid hour of practice in a day but it doesn't always work out that way. It also depends on the time of year, during the summer I don't practice as much but winters up here are damn cold so I spend alot of time staying inside and practicing.

I guess I'm lucky

I hate to admit it, but zero hours a week of practice. Never really did drills or anything like that. Just hit a zillion balls, usually against better players. Played so much when I was a little younger, now I don't have to play hardly at all to feel like I'm in stroke. Maybe just a few minutes of whacking balls around and I'm ready to go. Now it is pretty much just pool leagues and the occasional tournament. Sad but true!

I have a table in the basement where it is much cooler on hot summer days, so I practice as usual. My problem is keeping my game face as very few players go to the pool hall in summertime. Hopefully my buddy Gerry the trucker will be back tonight for a set. Is it the same in Calgary Sniper ?

I have missed 10 or less days this year playing playing pool.... practice my stroke relentlessly.....even more since I no longer have my usual cue stick....straight house cue baby!!! As long as the tip is hercules I am good to go...

oh...practice at least 4-5hours a day...not including lil money games and what not....

I look for a game. If none there, I just hang out for a while. I am not disciplined enough to just hit balls alone. Never was. I get in stroke while I play mostly because I am more focused because there is purpose.

right now 0 hours practice and a few tournaments, when i get back to school 5+ hours of practice a day on weekdays plus tournaments.

When I was serious about the game, I used to play for around 5 hours per day on average, doings drills alone.

I found it diffucult to maintain concentration beyond this, which would lead to forming bad habits.

If I had a break from the game, it would take me several session to be able to build up to 5 hours of focused practice.

I would play against others a couple of times a week, sometimes for 12 hour sessions.

I would turn off music, prefer to play at home than in clubs where people come up to ask for a game or just to make some silly comments.

Ditto, I used to drill about 2-3 hours a night. Then I had a major burnout while taking an acclerated course in networking 3 years ago and had to put my cue down to study and never got back into it.

I too put my cue down almost 3 years ago for much different reasons. In between then and now I made several attempts to practice and play. Lately...the past 2 months I have been playing somewhere between 10-20 hours a week, mostly One Pocket or 14.1. Feels good when a run comes together
