How much is this worth?

Does this sound like a good deal to you guys? How much would you pay for it?


I have an original mcdermot C-series model C-14 this is a retired pool cue made between 1980 and 1984 . the c series is one of the most sought after series in the mcdermott line. mcdermotts website says the value you this pool cue is over $1000. i am asking $700 or best offer. the cue is ALL original. from one end to the other. also comes with a second shaft (also from mcdermott) that i use for breaking. will have pics up tomorrow. you can go to mcdermott's website and find out some more info on it at mcdermottcue.com

To be honest the cues value of $1000 is if the cue is in mint condition,yours doesnt appear to be that,but is in good condition.I would put its value at $600 and then subtract $200 for the poor market and if you get $400 then you did very well.I could be off but we will see what some more experience buyers/sellers have to say.

My two cents..

Not that I am an expert, however I have been collecting, buying, reselling McDermott C and D's for about 5 years now.

That cue to me is worth no more than 450.00. The factors are definitely its condition, and from what I have experienced, although a very nice cue, that model is not very popular with collectors. Why, not sure. Just not a high demand for that particular model.

So, if you want a good deal, don't pay more than 450.00 for it. I certainly would not. I would push for 350.00.

Just so you know, Mcdermott always has a special on refinishing that's a little hidden on their site. It includes a full refinish, a rewrap in leather or linen, and a new extra shaft with matching ring work all for $235, which is a pretty good deal. When I was thinking about buying a well used Mcdermott, I factored in this cost of refinish into my purchase price. Here is the link to the refurbish deal.
