how much should a used taper shaper sell for?

They hold their value well. With a Quiet Router, in good condition, I have seen them from 2500 and up. I bought one for about that, and love the machine for routine Taper work while I do other tasks.
With no router they start at 1800 and easily go up.

Mine was 1700.00 with no router. That is as inexpensive as I have seen..
I missed out on Joey's. IIRC, his was $2200. I thought considering the cost of new, that was pretty reasonable.
pretty sure he sold it for 17-1800 without a router. I'm sure he'll chime in.

Just bought a new one , it was shipped 2 days ago !!! They are a workhorse in any cue shop ... Very reliable and durable with minimal care ... Luv it can't get enuff of it ... Jim and Bryan are good people ... You should just get yourself a new one ...
I agree Eric. I'd like to be able to turn squares and shafts without tying up my only lathe all day. I've dealt with Jim a few times and is good people.

Jim and Bryan are at SBE right now , but you should call and speak to them in a couple of weeks ... Check the website for exact cost , I spent considerably more than the standard one on the website because of extra options I got ... Custom taper bar and Kress router , and more ... If you are serious about making some cues , it is a machine you want to get ... Take reasonable care of it and they hold their value well ... Like I said before , a workhorse in any cue shop , with an auto shutoff it also will $ maximize $ your time...
