How Often Can You Run This?

Come to my thread and do the 6 pointed star with me. I'll try this exact layout next practice session. This should be easier than the 6 pointed star because the balls are a ball off the rail, which opens up a lot of options if the CB gets on the rail.

However, this particular ball placement is much harder than any of the placements in the 6 pointed star (even with the balls off the rails like in your picture).

Did you do the exact ball placement from your picture (I mean which number goes on which diamond)? Are the balls all about 1 ball off the rail? Or closer?

Yes, exact placement. Balls about 1 ball off the rail. And I switched from the 1-6 to the 4-9 to make it more like a runout. See the diagram.

I tried 20 more times tonight. Got out twice.

Funny though. I've gotten this out about five times altogether and not one time would I say it was flawless execution. But then again, alot of pros go to Plan B during a runout.

The hardest position shot in this layout is from the 7B to the 8B. At least for me it is.

Clearly you aren't there. If you aren't maintaining your playing level, you can't just fire up the table when you feel like it and expect the good stuff.

I just did it on the first try on a GC4 at the hall 30 sec ago! I’m actually shocked.

I’ll keep trying it for the next hr or so.

A perfect example of how inane most pool 'drills' are. This drill consists of of four extremely simple shots and two that range from somewhat-kinda hard to kinda hard.

If you want to practice what you should have trouble with, get rid of the first three balls, they are only there to waste time. If you can't reliably get to the four ball with decent shape, then you should get rid of the last two balls, they are only there to frustrate you.

Races to 10 (table beads).

Set 1: 2-10

I missed a straight in 9, and cut the 8 with a perfect angle too thin twice getting on the 9.

I’m going to practice the 8-9 transition 5-10 min then play another set.

In this regard its a drill sequence and should be attempted along the lines of flow and in that regard maybe it's an advanced drill. (?) :ROFLMAO:

Failing that, there are the three essential components. How hard can that be to break down and learn?

Set 2: 6-10, race to 10 score.

I missed the 8-9 transition only once. So the 10 min practice on that transition really helped.

Shooting the 8 or 9 is more pressure than the game ball when playing a real match to me.

Im FargoRate 568 with 1800 robustness for context.

I don’t think I would have made 1 out in 2 sets if I hadn’t done the 6 pointed star all week prior.

That’s it for tonight.
