How old is old enough?

Shiver me timbers.

Someone answered a post that I had saying that nether he nor I would ever be a pro pool player. I guess truer word were never spoken. So I got to thinking. Just how long do I have to live to be the best in my age group? You know 90, 100, 110, till everyone else has kicked the bucket. Since I can't be a pro, is there some kind of goal I can set here? You know, If I can just live long enough!

So much for joking around.
Who are the old coots around that play pretty good for their age. I figure we don't want the list to go on forever. So let's start off with 85 or so and older. If we don't get enough we can lower that.

As mentioned in another thread, George Rood ran 126 when he was 88. He still plays pretty well at 92 (or so).

I know an 88 year old man who goes out fox hunting 3 days a week for 4 or 5 hours. You certainly couldn't compare any other fox hunters to him. There are exceptions to every rule. In general, if you haven't gone pro before your 55th birthday, forget about it.

You want to argue with dat, I will sik my dog on your leg!!!!!

JR - Age is a great equalizer. They don't have to die, they just need to go blind, or become incontinent, or develop a twitch, or become forgetful enough to shoot the 5 when they are on the 4...Who knows, this could all happen for you well before you're 110!

My only worry ...

Is that more Senior leagues and tournaments need to be held:

Then Silver leagues and tournaments
Then Gold leagues and tournaments
Then Platinum leagues and tournaments

Then the 'Living Dead' leagues and tournaments

Then I will be buried with my cues at 140.

His name is Randy Rouse. He was married to Audry Meadows. I guarentee you that you couldn't hang with him over timber, stone walls, and thru the woods for 5 minutes on horseback. The guy in 1 in a million. He also has many many millions of dollars. One tough old man.

You know golf does senior pro tournaments and many of the players were once regular job holders. Maybe soon this will happen in pool too...
