How Strong is Ivory joint for a cue???

Ivory Joints
I have been using cues with Ivory joints since the early 70's and have never had any problems. Back then there were no break cues so I broke 9 Ball with my Ivory jointed playing cue (Custom Joss) for years without issue.
The one thing I would caution is quick changes in temperature are a big no no!!! Don't leave an Ivory jointed cue in your car in the winter and bring it into to an extremely warm room. Bad things will happen.

Put an ivory joint on one of my schons. Had it for about 6 months use daily no problems. My cue man told me temperament change was the biggie. Let it come to room temperature, from car to room ect. I'm sure some of our cue experts can go farther with this. By the way the fill is great, to me from stainless to an ivory joint is like day to night. Hope I helped a little.
