how the @$!% do I get my stroke in line

Probably a bit better is a firm stroke with bottom right english going three rails and travelling towards the nine off the third rail. Much fewer misses than using inside on the eight, and almost no chance to come up short..

Have to go and try. For me it goes always that the shot i take is the one i feel most comfortable at that moment. So nothing for me is absolutely right or wrong; those are just opinions and, luckily, we all are allowed to have those.

Thanks, Russ, for posting that idea. I'll go and try both ways and see what happens.

Pete.. thanks for responding!! What I meant was, Playing the eight with inside english, you have to allow for deflection based on the speed and power of your hit. Very touchy. Then, on top of that, you have to worry about the distance down the table the cue ball is going to go. A little bit less to think of going the outside english route.

Russ,

i see your point. But being here, at work, behind computer it really is a different thing than playing pool...and that really affects on my thinking what would i do. My post was the first idea that came to my mind and that's possible and so is yours. I actually couls as well go that way when being in a game.

Mick on EasyPoolTutor forum, made his very own stroke trainer, that i have tried and it works and the best thing it is free. He made it out of wire, here are the measurements and a picture of it.
