How The Rep System Works?

I am moderatley COLOR BLIND and sometimes when RED and GREEN are together (like in the little rep squares) I CAN"T TELL THE DIFFERENCE! (it all looks like one color).
My first day on here I got bad rep from some guy. My post was a complaint post about seeing too many political threads. It also was coming from a POSITIVE VENT, saying that pool is my refuge and wanted this board free from junk like that etc.
I guess i upset some folks by being a rookie here and airing a slight general gripe for the good of the forum. Food for thought.
The hysterical part is I didn't even know at the time what the little bars meant and didn't even know I had a neg. till a kind Azer PM'd me and gave me a pos to right the wrong.
Moral: Ignorance, (in this case color blindness) is bliss.
