<<< [ HOW TO ] build a Cue ? What kind of TOOLS do I NEED ? >>>>

Hi everyone !

I want to ask you how to build a cue stick ? Where can I find a proper manual with dimensions and connection to make it?

I dreaming from a longg...time about making cue for myself first of all.
Because I belive I have got unique and stunning designs in my head, but the thing is I don't know anyone who makes cues.

So I don't know what kind of tools, types od wood, etc. I will need. So Can any one help me?
I think CNC router and CNC lathe are necessary, isn't it?

Thanks.

Hope you have a lot of experance as a machinist and or tool making...

There are simple glue ups like a snooker cue but you'll have your hands full.

You may want to try the "Ask a Cuemaker" section first. You don't necessarily need a CNC lathe setup, there are starter benchtop cue making lathe setups. Head to the Ask a Cuemaker section to see what I am talking about.

you don't need a CNC lathe

All you need is a fairly straight piece of maple, an extremely sharp knife, and an incredible amount of patience.
An expert woodcarver, when asked how to whittle a horse, replied:
"It's simple~ just cut away anything that doesn't look like a horse"
Same concept applies!

is there like a video series on youtube that show the steps on cuemaking?

Here's an interesting read from Thomas Wayne: http://www.cuemaster.com/RSB/cuemaking.htm

Freddie <~~~ would pass on the question normally
