I;ve seen most twist the tip in the carpet at the [pool hall, which is disrespectful , get a napkinI take one step before dropping the shaft in. I twist the tip into the palm of my hand; this polite habit necessitated by dives with concrete flooring. Regardless, chalk still gets in there.
Think about those with the bubblegum chalk it will be on everything. It definitely alters the roll of the cueball kinda like a built in shark, It should not be allowedi just shove them in the case and never had a problem with chalk on anything.
but i also never wash my cars. let the rain do it.
Yeah. Concrete floors saved my soul.I;ve seen most twist the tip in the carpet at the [pool hall, which is disrespectful , get a napkin
if there is a chip in that concrete sometimes it works. When playing on the road in a sleazy bar, with a house cue, and the tip needs shaping lolYeah. Concrete floors saved my soul.![]()
never heard of that. news to me.Think about those with the bubblegum chalk it will be on everything. It definitely alters the roll of the cueball kinda like a built in shark, It should not be allowed
chalk doesn't shape or scuff a tips i've seen some tip that were glued on and still flat.never heard of that. news to me.
but the gamblers i play with and see around just use the house masters chalk usually.
Thank you, maha, Does the dollar bill get the chalk dust out of the pores of the shaft? That's what I'm trying to avoid with the sealing and waxing. Thanks in advance. Terrytime tested for a century, is the dollar bill for that.
i would never put any polish or wax on my shaft.
True. I also use the tip covers from Longoni and some other's that are short/clear plastic one's to capture that.Sometimes the shaft gets chalk from inside the case wherever the tip touches
Keep in covered lmaoTrue. I also use the tip covers from Longoni and some other's that are short/clear plastic one's to capture that.
burnishing keeps stuff from getting in the shaft as it hardens it and makes it slicker. doesnt do wonders.Thank you, maha, Does the dollar bill get the chalk dust out of the pores of the shaft? That's what I'm trying to avoid with the sealing and waxing. Thanks in advance. Terry
I do like the Master's chalk, but don't like how it gets into the pores of the wood. It's my OCD thing.never heard of that. news to me.

I do tilt my cue when chalking, but admittedly, I've never burnished this Joss shaft that's picking up all the chalk. I know that it's common to burnish the sides of the tip, but you're saying that the length of the wood shaft should be burnished as well? And that'll keep it from picking up chalk? Thanks in advance maha.burnishing keeps stuff from getting in the shaft as it hardens it and makes it slicker. doesnt do wonders.
no big deal if your shaft gets to look like its getting a little blue you dont feel it.
if you tilt your stick when you chalk a bit the dust doesnt fall onto your hand or the stick.
even after forever i dont see my shafts getting worse.
The dollar bill will only slicken over and bury the chalk in the shaft, then it may never come out even with harsh chemicalsThank you, maha, Does the dollar bill get the chalk dust out of the pores of the shaft? That's what I'm trying to avoid with the sealing and waxing. Thanks in advance. Terry
I;m old school I'll bet wood against cf, it's all in the build,. I shoot great with delfection it's what i grew up with and learned.some confusion probably on my part. but
you shape your tip
scuff it rarely when it starts getting glazed
chalk lightly and so that it doesnt fall on your hands or shaft
never wax shaft as it wont be smoother for long.
can burnish it with a dollar bill or whatever you chose
then leave it be, and play with it.
if it gets dings learn how to steam them out, it works.
if you have carbon fiber i'm lost on that.
Only chalk your tip on the shiny spots the rest would be overload and maybe a miscue eventually. If the shaft isn't crying don't scuff or go to chalk , just a nervous gesture. We all do this when we feel our back is against the wall. Put your focus forward , ignore anything else in the room , you have a goal, to win Take control and keep it.I;m old school I'll bet wood against cf, it's all in the build,.
