How to clean felt table top

Ok I'll call it cloth. It does have a couple small black stains I'm trying to get rid of. No idea what it's from. It is a red cloth table. Thanks
Warm water and Woolite solution, mixed 1 cap of Woolite to 1 gal. warm water. Scrub just firm enough to work the solution in. Use a microfiber towel and ring it out good. I would do the entire table so that if there is some color loss it will be an even match throughout the table, sub rails included.

I don't have a problem calling it felt because all it is are fibers being pressed.
The bar I shoot at had the tables recovered. I asked the guy what kind of cloth they used and he said "that's felt, the expensive stuff is cloth."

I'm with you, I don't really see a problem calling it felt. I suppose cloth is a more accurate term for the worsted billiard textile but a lot of tables have fabric that is fuzzy and has no visible weave.

I can sadly tell you from experience that often when you try to remove small stains or whatever on the cloth, the attempt to remove it ends up making it look far worse than it did to start with.

Red cloth!
Now you dun did it. If you thought folks got butt hurt when you called the cloth felt- well my friend- for some reason people hate red felt cloth.

It’s a very personal thing, telling folks what is acceptable to use on a table they’ll never play on.

Hey, my daddy got us a table with red cloth and I liked it. There, I said it. Red cloth plays just like blue or green, or now acceptable in the last two years, gray. Or is it, grey.

P.S. let us nits not forget the Camel Gold.

P.S.S. Welcome Scooter

As a result of reading this thread, i went upstairs and picked up my wives Roomba. I took it apart and cleaned it, combed the brush, etc. Got it all spiffed up, that thing has lived a hard life, no way it gets on my table.

The cheap solution is just a broom with soft hairs from a dustpan. Then brush line by line in the same direction. Brush stuff under the rail and either vacuum away or brush it all into a pocket.

I've bought at least a dozen of them from ebay at right around $100. I recommend the 800 series and newer, the suction is better. The only drawback to the newer ones is you can't plug them directly in, they have to sit on the little dock to charge, and if you don't get them on there properly the battery will drain.
Here's my saved search on ebay.

Try some Brakleen in the green can. I've used it with great success for some small stains on my table. Carefully spray it on a microfiber towel and dab/twist on the affected areas.
