i currently have a cue which i have been using. however, am trying to get the cue to have more "feel" while playing. Beside changing the tip, what other adjustments can i do?
any help appreciated:D

Different Ferrule and Tip :)

Yeah, Different ferrule and tip or switch to a different shaft all together, Predator, Tiger x shaft, OB1 they have all had good reviews. I like the predator my self but am going to try a Tiger X shaft on a Putnam sneaky i just got.

Forearm: Natural stained birdseye maple
Sleeve: Zebra wood handle and points

Bad wood combo for a lively hit imo.

A softer higher action ferrule and maybe a Triangle or Sniper tip would increase your spin, draw and follow.

Good Wood Combos

Coco, bocote, purpleheart, honduran rosewood, ebony , tulipwood or bloodwood handle with maple front or vice-versa.

IMO the collarless is one thing I would change. Go phenolic collars , you loose a little action with the brass insert , a wood to wood I think gives better feel and action. If you want stern , crisp hit , a shorter ferrule , and a moori medium , or water buffalo tip is best. Gives you controllable action on the cue ball. Ivorine ferrules , especially if threaded on , give a cue a real pop in the hit.
As far as wood combo's to build one , sneaky pete style cues hit very well , I agree with Joey on the bacote , purple heart , rosewood , and coco. Also gabon ebony has a really nice hit to it. Maple forarms soften the hit on cues if not cored with a harder wood.
Also if you like wrap cues , an old secret is to request a purpleheart handle under the wrap. Really adds to the feel.
Just my opinions ,
Jim

From his other posts he wants to know what changes he can do to a Q he already has. How can he put a shorter ferrule on, unless he makes the shaft shorter?...JER
