How to remove mildew smell from linen wrap on cue??

If the linen smell is gone / almost gone, I would not return it to the case you got it with as it seems like the issue. I've seen and read about many linen wraps getting fuzzy and / or separating after cleaning attempts. A new 1x2 black vinyl hard case with pocket and strap is like $30 on amazon. Let the cue wrap continue to air out as much as possible and toss that old case unless it is a matched set and then the case lining should be replaced.

Not sure if anyone already mentioned it since I didn’t read the thread.

Apple cider vinegar.

Put some in a spray bottle and spray on the area and wipe. Keep doing this till it’s damp.

vinegar and clorax will not kill mold. it does make it seem to go away but really just drives it deeper. mold is a living thing.

borax as in twenty mule team boraxo is about the only safe thing that will kill the mold.

as doing fresh air and sunlight may remove the smell for good if it isnt mold living inside the wrap.

likely the case, as that can get damp and let mold grow.

Would leaving a case periodically, once in a year in the summer, under sunlight to prevent mold a good idea?

I know women’s purses get moldy in humid climates.

I’m perplexed this thread is still going. Maybe I should start a thread how to kill old age smell on cues.

Hans are you kidding me, I’m revoking shooter_

One of many reasons why I prefer no wrap cues. I’ve had experience with linen in the past where it got nasty from perspiration and chalk mixture.

I prefer exotic wraps but only in the form of a creature that lives in water. Sharkskin, may e lizard and any other skin that spent its life in water. This is if I was gong with a wrap. It’s not for looks.

We all have been there. There is one guy in the pool hall that you wouldn’t want to touch their cue. It’s filthy or it smells.

This guy wants no animal skin on my cue except for the tip. maybe a ferrule, predate like a SW

I use to tell people that my ebony and ivory cue is special.

They had to kill elephants to make my cue. The ebony? They have to chop down a bunch of trees and split it. If it’s not all black in the middle then they just leave it where they chopped it. ROFL

People didn’t like the cue. Ebony and ivory will always be infamous.

You might try vinegar vinegar can kill mold because of its mild acidity and antifungal and antibacterial properties. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) approves vinegar for use in moldy areas, including dense mold.
