hello all.
i play a lot but i'm not very knowledgeable about cues.
i used to have a basic cue which i've upgraded with a renown local manufacturer's cue
both shafts had basic tips of unknown origin
after a few months of play, without much performance evolution i must admit,i was begining to feel down, then one day my tip chipped, and the local pool owner offered me to change the damaged tip with a moori(spelling?),and since i had that fitted,my game's improving at an incredible pace.
now here's my question:
how do you know if you're a better player on soft, medium or hard tip?
some will suggest trying different cues and find out,but the difference of the cue alone will influence my play,so i won't be able to "feel" if it's just about the tip.
any advices?
now, another point, it's about the shaft itself, can most butts accomodate the popular shafts like predator ect....
i don't like to be ubiquitous,so i'd like to find a great brand of shaft that i would be sure not to see on another player's cue, many thanks
